Xpel Armor for Roof TrimUpdated a month ago

Please watch the video below, and don't forget, always try to install in the sunshine (50-80f) if at all possible, it makes things much easier.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install armor protection for the side trims on the roof of a Cybertruck, based on the provided video:

  • Preparation: Clean the surface with alcohol or lens cleaner \[00:30]. It is recommended to install in the sun to help with the flexibility of the material \[00:46].
  • Initial Application: Peel back the first foot and a half of the material, past the first access panel, which will be used as an alignment point \[01:06]. Be careful not to stretch the material \[01:24].
  • Alignment: Focus on aligning the top edge and especially around the access panel \[01:42]. Ensure all four edges are aligned, including the end piece \[01:49].
  • Finalizing the Section: Use a squeegee to finalize the applied section \[01:56].
  • Continuing the Application: Peel back more of the backing paper, stopping just before the next access point \[02:06]. Fold the backing underneath to keep it out of the way \[02:12].
  • Steering and Tension: Use one hand to steer the material, applying tension to straighten it without stretching \[02:18]. Ensure it's nicely lined up \[02:23].
  • Finalizing Sections: Once aligned, finalize the section with the squeegee \[02:32].
  • Addressing Short Lengths: If the material is slightly short, peel it back and gently pull it into the middle to ensure a good fit \[02:57].
  • Panel Installation: For the access panels, simply lay the material over the top \[03:58]. Align one end, and the rest should follow \[04:16].
  • Completion: The installation process should only take a few minutes \[04:22].
