Removing PPF Adhesive ResidueUpdated 7 hours ago
We'd had our PPF installed for about a year. Removing that mostly involved parking it in the sun to soften it up, then pulling it off piece by piece. It's very hard work, and no matter what we tried (warm towels, clothes steamer, hot water etc) there was no way to avoid some of the adhesive being left behind.
In the video below, I'm using:
- 3M Adhesive Remover: https://amzn.to/42vkhDQ
- Scotchbrite Pads (non-Scratch): https://amzn.to/4h3ndh4
- Shop towels: https://amzn.to/46CgYNw
- Liquid Barkeepers Friend: https://amzn.to/4mSWEwf
The 3M Adhesive remover is good, because it doesn't turn the residue into a slimy goop that other removers do, but it is a solvent-based product, so if that's not your thing, we also found this to be quite good: https://accentdistributing.com/products/gt162p-pink-adhesive-remover , but you'll also need some plastic blades to scrape away the goop: https://amzn.to/3VRUK40 , and sill the 3M remover to remove the very last of the residue. Good luck!!
